The Commission services are organized into three divisions, each headed by a director, member of the steering committee.

> Economics Division, including tariffs department, planning and programs monitoring department and information system department.

> Quality, Technical and Environmental Control Division, including Electricity and gas departments.

> The Consumer protection and permits Division, including permits and concessions department, consumer protection department, conciliation and arbitration as well as public service implementation and control of department.

 The administration and Communication department are attached to the President of the Steering Committee,

An advisory body called the "Consultative Council" is also attached to the regulation commission. It advises on the activities of the steering committee and on strategies for energy policy in the electricity and gas sector.

The composition and functioning of the Advisory Board are set by regulation.

Law No. 02-01 of February 5, 2002 through sections 132 and 133 sets within the regulatory commission :

  • a conciliation service for disputes arising from the application of regulation, including that relating to access to networks, tariffs and compensation operators ;

  • An arbitration board which, rules on disputes arising between operators except those related to contractual rights and obligations.

The CREG's staff currently has 50 employees with a target enrollment of 90.
